Laurence Anthony Donovan passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Larry was born on December 1, 1928, the third son of Joseph Jerome and Loretta Helene (Hickey) Donovan, and he was raised in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York. After serving in the Army in Korea, Larry married Sandra Rome in 1954, and moved to Long Island. Following his wife's death in 1973, he married Elizabeth Beyer in 1975. He attended New York University and Hofstra University. He worked many years as a salesman for Shell Oil, National Lead, and Bright Steel and, later, as a social worker. After retirement, he made his home in El Cajon, California, where he volunteered as an ombudsman for nursing home residents. He enjoyed skiing, biking, fishing, tennis, camping, and also traveled widely. He moved to Gilmanton, New Hampshire last August. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Joseph and Richard, and his wife Sandra.

He is survived by his children Gary and wife Catherine of Lake City, FL, Scott and wife Patricia of Brunswick, GA, Kimberly and husband Vincent Ribas of Franklin, NH, Glenn of Nelson, NH, Jennifer and husband Kenneth McDonough of Montreal, QC, and Katherine Wilcox and husband Kevin of Gilmanton, NH, as well as grandchildren Sandra Campbell and Emily Siders of Atlanta, GA, Sean Donovan of Fort Worth, Texas, Emma Donovan of Brunswick, GA, Kira Ribas of Franklin, NH, Alice Donovan of Boston, MA, and Bridget and Keenan Wilcox of Gilmanton, NH, and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass will be held on Monday, March 3 at 9:15 AM in Saint James Church, 80 Hicksville Road, Seaford, NY, followed by interment with Military Honors at 11:30 AM at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
