Lawrence
Maurice
December 21, 1948 – April 12, 2026
Lawrence Raymond Maurice, 77, of Hillsboro, NH, died on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Harris Hill Center in Concord, NH.
Larry was born on December 21, 1948 to Fred and Eva Maurice in Pittsfield, NH, but grew up in Hooksett. The youngest of four. He attended High School at Manchester Central and graduated in 1966. He enlisted in the Army, then later attended New Hampshire College on a GI Bill. He was deployed overseas where he worked in food distribution in Germany and in Vietnam. After returning home, he was introduced to Elaine Carrigan through a mutual friend. The two hit it off immediately and married on April 28, 1972. Together they had two children, Christopher Lawrence Maurice of Manchester, and Jennifer Elaine Maurice of Hillsboro.
Larry worked many jobs in retail around the Manchester/Concord area, mostly paint and hardware stores. In the mid nineties he took a job at Osram Sylvania in Manchester where he worked as a mechanic for many years. He retired when the plant closed. Since then he has been active as a volunteer at ACGS (American/Canadian Genealogy Society). He was always ready to jump in to help someone locate their long-lost loved one, and helped work on opening up adoption records.
Most recently, he had found his passion working with the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA) of Manchester. Larry dedicated a lot of time to the organization. Fundraising and raising awareness. He would do almost anything for anyone. There was no where he could go where he didn’t run into someone he knew. He loved everyone deeply, and was loved by everyone who every knew him.
Larry is survived by his wife, Elaine; a son, Christopher; a daughter, Jennifer; two grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary; his older brothers, Tom of Franklin, and Steve of Fairmont, MN. Several first cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Larry will be greatly missed by all!
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Vietnam Veterans Association of Manchester, Chapter 41.
