Leighton Michael O’Connor, 81, of Manchester, New Hampshire died peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Leighton was born on July 3, 1943 to Joseph and Shirley (Wiggin) O’Connor in Peabody, Massachusetts. He attended Beverly schools, graduating from Beverly High School. He later went on to study finance at Babson College earning his MBA.

Upon graduation from high school, Leighton worked in the printing industry, servicing copying machinery from Fort Kent, Maine to White Plains, NY. He later worked with his father at KJ Quinn. After college, he worked in school business administration for various school districts in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida. His passion for the outdoors - camping, bike riding, kayaking, x-country skiing, hiking and fishing kept him busy throughout his life. He enjoyed long Jeep rides through the notches of NH, down to the Keys, or to the coast for Ipswich fried clams.

Leighton is survived by his wife Karen (Young) O’Connor, his sister Judith (O’Connor) and John Boldebook of York, Maine; his sons Leighton and Stephanie O’Connor of Nahant, Massachusetts, Michael (Mike) and Sally O’Connor of Westford, Massachusetts, Charles (Chad) O’Connor of American Canyon, California, John (Jay) and Lyris O’Connor of Port Townsend, Washington, Leigh O’Connor and Debra Swanson of Port Hadlock, Washington; his grandchildren Kyle, Justin, Alexandra (Alex), Casey, Megan, Jacklyn (Jackie), Rowan, Alana, Dutch, Morgan and Brynn; his niece Holly and Jeff Gagne and his nephew Scott and Kate Boldebook. He was predeceased by his nephew Shawn Boldebook.

A celebration of Leighton’s life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VNA of Manchester & Southern NH (Hospice), 1070 Holt Ave, Suite 1400, Manchester, NH 03109 in Leighton’s memory.
