Lenny E. Colby, 68, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Concord Hospital after a long battle with health issues related to Agent Orange which he contracted while in Vietnam. He was born on August 7, 1948 in Concord, NH, son of Floyd E. and Marjorie Geddes Colby.
He was the husband of Barbara Salvas Colby. They were married on March 9, 1970 in Candia, NH.
Lenny attended schools in Manchester, NH before enlisting in the Army where he served his country in Vietnam. After his stint in the Army, he worked as a truck/diesel mechanic for many years before starting his own business. He sold used vehicles, turned wrenches (threw) and towed for local towns. He retired just prior to 911 due to health issues.
Lenny enjoyed tinkering with his Doodlebug (which he named Parts, Bits & Pieces). He collected diecast vehicles, especially from the 1950's. He loved telling jokes and stories, harassing his dog, Ryder, listening to old country music, watching old westerns and hanging out with his great grandkids.
He was predeceased by a sister, Wanda Graham.
Along with his wife, Barbara, and father, Floyd, he is survived by a son, Lenny Colby of Allenstown, NH, and a daughter, Lorena Colby (Brad Fuller) of Epsom, NH; six sisters, Donna (Dan) Siewert of Hill, NH, Vicki L'Heureux of Campton, NH, Rebecca (William)Timberlake of Conway, NH, Rhonda (Fran) Houghton of Tilton, NH, Clair (Donald) L'Heureux of Raleigh, NC, and Bonnie (Steve Blodgett) Trott of Manchester, NH; two brothers, Lane Colby of Campton, NH, and Randy (Donna) Graham of Manchester, NH; three grandchildren, Kristie Colby (Kristie Marie Albeghetti) of Manchester, NH, Ariel (Zack Fleury) Colby (Azreal) of Allenstown, NH, and Perry J. Eaton Jr. (Boona) of Epsom, NH; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Balestreri (Herkimer) of Epsom, NH, Gavin Fleury (the Gav) of Allenstown, NH, and Jorden Fleury (the Beaver) of Allenstown, NH; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Interment will be on January 27, 2017, 2:00pm, at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
