LEO R. POLIQUIN TILTON – Leo R. Poliquin, 88, of Tilton – NH Veterans Home, died April 1, 2009, at Franklin Regional Hospital, in Franklin, following a brief illness. Born in Nashua, NH, on September 2, 1920, in Nashua, NH, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Rose (Belanger) Poliquin. He was a lifelong resident of Nashua, only moving to Tilton, NH, 15 months ago. He attended local schools, in Nashua. Mr. Poliquin was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Jackson Mills and Textron until they closed down then he started with Hitchiner Mfg. and worked there for many years and retired from Diamond Casting in Hollis, NH. Mr. Poliquin was a well liked foreman at all of his places of employment. Mr. Poliquin was an avid letter writer to the Nashua Telegraph, and later at the NH State Veterans Home, in Tilton, he was very vocal. Members of his family include; his daughter, Susan Poliquin; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Pauline (Ricard) Poliquin. Memorial Services will be private. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, in Nashua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice, in memory of Leo R. Poliquin.
