Leon M. Noury, 85, died on January 18, 2009 at Pleasant View Center in Concord from four years with Alzheimer disease.
He was born in Franklin, NH on May 27, 1923, the son of the late Majoric and Regina (Hamel) Noury.
Mr. Noury attended St. George's and St. Joseph High School in Manchester and lived most of his life in Manchester.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945 during WWII; he was stationed on board the USS Ramsey. After the war he worked in his father's jewelry store in Manchester.
He later worked for Merchants Bank for over 25 years as a senior loan officer. After retirement he worked for Merchant Motors.
Mr. Noury enjoyed walking and going to the beach.
Family members include his wife Virginia(Mara) Noury of Manchester; three daughters Marie Dariotis of Mass.; Collette Lukas of CT. and Louise Roy of FL.; two sons Charles Noury of CT. and Edward Noury of Calif.; one step-daughter Susan Person of NH; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; one brother Dr. Phil Noury of SC. He also leaves his first wife Claire (Duhaime) Noury of CT.the mother of his five children.
IN HIS LIFE Mr. Noury was predeceased by his brother Frank Noury of NH and his stepdaughter Gini Young of NH who died in Oct. of 2008.
