Leonard Balfour Randall, 83 of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire died peacefully December 14, 2005 at Elliot Hospital from a brief illness. He was born February 5, 1922 in Pembroke, New Hampshire to Earle L. Randall and Marion (Leonard) Randall. He grew up in Milford and lived in Mont Vernon since 1945 with his wife, Helen (Long) Randall, to whom he was married 61 years. Mr. Randall graduated from Milford High School in 1940. He attended NYA School at Durham before enlisting in the Army on October 13, 1942. He was a Veteran of World War II having served as a medic stationed near Rouen then into action April 1, 1945 at Esch, Germany. He continued through Cologne, Dusseldorf, the Ruhr Pocket and the Rhine. After V-E Day, he served at dispensaries at Berg Neustadt and Bielstein in the Rhineland. Corporal Randall was discharged April 15, 1946 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was a member and past Commander of the Ricciardi-Hartshorn American Legion Post #23. Mr. Randall was a master carpenter and electrician having worked for Elgin Burtt Construction and E.P. Hallett Plumbing & Heating before starting Randall's Home Service, his own plumbing and heating company. In later years he was the Mont Vernon Building Inspector, Cemetery Custodian, Assistant at the Recycling Center and other duties for the town. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, motor cycling, camping, woodworking, gardening, music, the outdoors and sharing his great sense of humor with all folks he met. Mr. Randall will be sorely missed by his loving family and friends. Besides his wife Helen, he is survived by one son, Kent F.E. Randall and his companion Shiela Winkler of Milford, NH., two daughters Rae L. Pelletier and her husband Hermel Pelletier of Greenville, NH., Karleen E. Lang and her husband Robert Lang of Milford, NH., two sisters, Mrs. Constance Molis and Mrs. Dean (Cynthia) Cox both of Milford, NH., eleven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, N.H. is handling the arrangements.
