LEVI A. GRIFFIN, JR. Levi A. Griffin, Jr., 62, of Pembroke, NH, died on Monday, December 28, at the Concord Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He died after a 15 month battle with cancer. Mr. Griffin was born in Peterborough, NH, on August 27, 1947, the son of the late Levi and Rachael (Gariepy) Griffin, Sr. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Following his retirement in 1985, he worked for the Sisters of Holy Cross, Angelos Restaurant and T.R. Brennans. Mr. Griffin was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed landscaping his yard. Members of his family include; his wife of 42 years, Paulette (Blay) Griffin, of Pembroke; two sons, Douglas Griffin of Pembroke; Scott Griffin of Tilton; two daughters, Jennifer (Griffin) McDonald, of Whitman, MA; Melissa Griffin of Everett, WA; four grandsons, one granddaughter, 2 step grandchildren, one brother, Matthew Griffin, of Hooksett; one sister, Joyce (Griffin) Gosselin, of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Griffin was predeceased by his son, Levi A. Griffin, III, in 2007. IN HIS LIFE: He greatly enjoyed the love of his life, his granddaughter, Jolene Griffin. SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be Friday, January 1, from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M, at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 PM.
