Liam A. Collins

Liam A Collins, 56, beloved son, husband, father, "grumpa" and friend, passed away early January 4, after a valiant battle against dengue fever. He is predeceased by his father, William "Al" Collins, his devoted dog, Sheerkhan, and his best friends, Phil Frye and Cortie Heath. He is survived by his mother Phebe and by his loving wife of 20 years, K Renee, both of Rochester New Hampshire. He leaves three beautiful daughters Liz Collins of Concord NH and her life partner, Jen Jones, and their children Keagan and Delany; Sherrie White of Southbridge MA, and her husband Nate and their daughters Sam and Shelby; Katheryne Lane of Lebanon ME and her husband Phil and their three children Dave, Nick and KC. Two loving sons both of Rochester, Erin Stein and loving friend Terry F., and Christopher Stein and his fiancée Andrea Dubois and their children Sebastian, D'Artagnan, and Gillian; and Shasta, his puppy, who stayed by his side and checked on him throughout his illness. He also is survived by his sister Ruth Ryan and her husband Robert of Gardner MA. He leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. The coffeepot was always on at Liam's home to welcome family and friends. Due to his sense of humor and loving heart, his home had a revolving door which many have used, spending a night or longer, as the family was always willing to take in another. Liam was a jack of all trades and has held many positions, but was most proud of his work with Parsons Brinckerhoff as a FEMA housing inspector, aiding families and individuals devastated by the loss of their homes and/or personal possessions as a result of natural disasters. "Once a Marine, always a Marine", he proudly served in the Marine Corps 2nd Force Recon. Liam, born in Portland Maine, was the embodiment of a " Mainiac", loving camping, fishing and hunting. Liam treasured his friends and community, actively participating in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and, as a member of the Church of the Redeemer, in church activities. Liam's parting thought to all of us, was to remember "What goes around, comes around". There will be a Memorial Service in celebration of Liam's life accomplishments on January 19, 2003 at the Church of the Redeemer, Wakefield Street in Rochester NH at 12:30PM with a get together afterwards organized by the Church's youth group. In lieu of flowers Liam would most appreciate donations being made to the Church Youth Group, c/o Wanda Case, Church of the Redeemer, Rochester NH.
