PETERBOROUGH, NH – Lillian (Wozniak) Halach, 90, formerly of Barrington Hills, Illinois, died peacefully December 27, 2008 at Harborside Healthcare-Pheasant Wood. Born June 12, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois, Lillian was educated in the Chicago school system and became a licensed beautician in June of 1937. She met her husband, Carl Halach, while attending beauty school and they were married in July of 1937. From 1954 to 1967, Lill and Carl owned and operated King Pin Bowling Lanes in Fox River Grove, Illinois where they formed many life-long friendships. Even while helping with the business, Lillian continued working in her small beauty shop, a vocation she pursued throughout her life. Her husband, Carl, died in 1991. They had been married 54 years. Lillian's surviving family includes twin daughters, Pat Hummel of Peterborough, NH and Penny (George) Christensen of Huntley, Illinois; two grandchildren, Mark Hummel of Peterborough, NH and Stephanie Sousa of Nashua, NH; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Hummel and Connor and Tyler Sousa. Her brother, James Wozniak, resides in Bolingbrook, IL. Lillian's extended family includes the outstanding staff at The Scott-Farrar Assisted Living Home in Peterborough, NH whose care and devotion was greatly appreciated. Memorial donations may be sent to the Home at 11 Elm Street, Peterborough, NH 03458. A memorial service and internment is pending at Windridge Cemetery, Cary, Illinois.
