Lillian Palmer

Lillian E. Palmer (Tullgren), wife of Alan S. Palmer, peacefully passed away on October 30, 2024, at 5:00PM surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Manchester, NH, on April 9, 1933, Lillian was the daughter of Theodore and Leola (Taylor) Tullgren. A lifelong resident of Manchester and graduate of Central High School, Lil married the love of her life, Alan S. Palmer, in 1952. A dedicated wife and mother, Lillian’s family was paramount to her life. She loved being at their seasonal dwelling on Palmer Island with Alan and family members and friends. Lillian cherished the many adventures with Alan and their sons; hiking, canoeing, and biking on long trips, and cross country travelling to the 49 continental states and the 13 provinces and territories of Canada. Favorite camping and fishing destinations included Lake Umbagog, Lobster Lake, and Hermit Island. An avid hiker, she and Alan climbed all of New Hampshire’s 4000-foot mountains.

Lil made her career in insurance, starting at Bud Young’s Agency and culminating as Office Manager for many years at Jack Cullity’s Agency. She so enjoyed her interaction with the many people she helped and the special coworkers she shared her life with over the years. Lillian was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Manchester and added her angelic harmonies to the choir.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Alan; her son, Allan and his wife, Jamie and their sons, Alan and Riley; her granddaughter, Alana; her brothers, George and Mark and his wife, Marilyn; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her son, Wayne; her sister, Ruth (Barry); and brothers, Thomas, Theodore, and Bernard.
