Linda E. Belanger

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and Nana, Linda Byrd-Belanger, 80, of North Woodstock, New Hampshire. Linda passed away on August 2, 2026, at Littleton Regional Hospital.

Linda was born on September 25, 1945, in Montpelier, Vermont, to Frederick Byrd Sr. and Agnes Hersey-Byrd.

As the oldest of 13 children, along with three half-brothers, Linda naturally embraced the role of caring for those she loved. She worked for many years as a Licensed Nursing Assistant before continuing her career at FCI Electrical in Lincoln, where she eventually retired.

Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading, shopping, visiting the ocean, playing cribbage and Phase 10, and, above all, spending time with her family, who were her greatest treasure. She was a devoted New York Yankees fan, and one of her cherished bucket-list dreams came true when she was able to visit Yankee Stadium.

Nothing brought Linda more happiness than being a mother, grandmother, and Nana. She treasured every opportunity to be with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many neighborhood children who lovingly called her "Gram."

Linda was predeceased by her parents; her grandparents, Donald Hersey and Cora Richardson Hersey, with whom she spent much of her childhood; her aunt and uncle, Viola "Betty" Sweet and Merton Sweet; her brothers, Frederick Byrd Jr., Edgar Byrd, George Byrd, and Jimmy Byrd; and her lifelong best friend, Lee Sellingham. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Neil R. Manning, with whom she raised two daughters and remained friends with until his passing. She later married Michael Belanger, and although they divorced, the two had maintained a friendship.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Linda McIntyre and her husband Scott McIntyre of North Woodstock, New Hampshire; Cheri Manning and her companion Alan Jackson of Lincoln, New Hampshire; and Tonya Jarvis of Barre, Vermont.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Damien Jackson and his companion Jodi Witherspoon of Statesville, North Carolina; Ross MacAuley and his wife Rebecca of Lincoln, New Hampshire; Aaron MacAuley and his wife Amanda of Thornton, New Hampshire, Ryan Fairbrother and his wife Bryanna of North Woodstock, New Hampshire, Ashley Larue and husband Ryan of Whitefield, NH, and Brian Fairbrother of Middletown, CT.

Linda was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Aubrey, Alex, Annabella, Bennett, Brayden, and Malaki each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is also survived by her siblings: Richard Byrd (Dee), Michael Byrd, Robyn Codling (Shawn), Robert Byrd (Deana), Patricia Byrd (Andy), Danny Byrd (Marie), Timothy Byrd (Pam), Laurie Byrd, Yvonne Byrd, and Betsy Byrd.

Linda also leaves behind many beloved cousins, especially Cheryl Inman and Susan Sweet, with whom she remained close throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her dear friends Bernice Fairbrother and Theresa Sellingham, as well as by the many friends and extended family whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.

Although Linda is now reunited with many family members and dear friends who passed before her, her love, warmth, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Lin-Wood Ambulance, Littleton Regional Hospital, and the Cremation Society of New Hampshire for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness shown to Linda and her family during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Woodstock Station, 135 Main Street, North Woodstock, NH 03262. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 11:30 AM to honor Linda's life, share memories, and celebrate the love she brought to everyone who knew her.

Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH.
