Linda H. Colman

Linda H. Colman, 57, died June 25, 2007 at York Hospital, York Maine, after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses.

A life long resident of the Concord area, she was born to Herbert J. and Dorothy (McIntire) Hodgdon on November 20, 1949. She was a 1967 graduate of Concord High.

She was a professional ceramicist earning both national and international certification, she specialized in dolls and cookware. Displaying and selling her crafts throughout the area, she was the owner of Crafty-Lady Creations. Linda was a member of both the Granite State Ceramic Association and Granite State Doll Club and was selected to represent them at their national conventions in Chicago and Boston. She was a life long member of the Bow Mills Methodist Church.

Until she was unable, the love of her life was working as an activity aide at area nursing homes where she lovingly taught her craft. She especially enjoyed seeing the pleasure on the resident’s faces when their pieces were complete.

She and her husband were avid campers enjoying the east coast and New England. She loved Maine and watching the shoreline. For the past 15 years, when able, she spent the summer at Outdoor World at Moody Beach, Maine, where she taught ceramics to the young and old alike. She had the children sign and date their work so they could see their yearly progress.

She was a very special, lady to many people. She loved everyone and enjoyed taking care of those who needed her. She was an avid collector of cookbooks and loved creating gourmet meals for family and friends. She was also fond of dolls and teddy bears.

Even though she suffered terribly, she still had a great love of life. She left those who loved her here on earth to be with Jesus and those who love her high above the clouds in Heaven. She was a loving wife, princess, best friend and partner to her husband.

Family includes; her husband of 34 years, Stephen W. Colman, of Bow; a son, Peter F. Burgess II of Concord; daughter, Alisa M. Colman of Fife, Washington; step-daughter, Charmaine M. Moran of Concord; four grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew, Mary Ellen and Anna Moran whom "Nana" loved dearly and loved spending time with. Other family members include, two brothers, Herbert Hodgdon of Epsom, and Thurston "Buzzy" Hodgdon of Bo; sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by a stepson, Stephen M.
