The beautiful spirit of Linda Currier, left us on January 23, 2024 succumbing to a brain tumor. She leaves her beloved sons, Andrew and Roy Currier, her three grandchildren: Megan, Bridget, and Roy III, and her niece, Brittany Rogers, her dear cousins, and a myriad of friends. Linda was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2007, her parents, Dorothy and Malcolm Rogers, and her brothers, Malcolm and Ken.
Linda was born in Somerville, MA. She lived the early years of her life in Loudon, New Hampshire until her parents moved the family to White River Jct., Vermont. There she attended Hartford Memorial school and Hartford High School. Linda and Roy Currier married young and had their two sons while Roy attended and graduated from SNHU. Over the years, Linda worked as a Supervisor in Assigned Risk for New Hampshire Insurance for nearly 20 years. She was co-owner and operator of Red Rose Flower Shop in Manchester. Roy and Linda had a fulfilling family life with their sons – fishing the various Lakes of New Hampshire and Lake Ontario; supporting and enjoying their sons’ and grandchildren’s schools and activities. Later, they had a time share at Divi Divi Resort in Aruba, where they made lots of friends whom they revisited on their annual vacations.
After her husband, Roy passed, Linda looked for activities she wanted to enjoy. She joined and loved being an active member of the Hooksett Garden Club. She took art classes with the Hooksett Library Art Group and discovered her artistic talent. Her art was displayed at both the Library and at “Art in the Woods” in Marlow, NH. Next, she took up golf, and played in the women’s golf league in Den Brae in Sanbornton. During this time she also enjoyed renting rooms in her home to SNHU students, giving them a home away from home.
Linda Rogers Currier had so many endearing qualities. She was always a beautiful woman with a lovely smile. She was gracious and generous, thoughtful, caring and had a way of adopting you. She always had these nuggets of wisdom and gave advice and guidance to family and friends. She loved joining friends for lunch, inviting them to her lovely home, and showing off Hooksett and the Manchester region; taking friends to Robie’s for breakfast; attending the Currier Museum; touring the Frank Lloyd Wright house; visiting the majestic Clydesdale Horses; Rye Beach, and beautiful Lake Winnepausaukee and Church Landing, and of course Chantilly’s for a glass of wine and great food. These are just a few of the places she cherished while living here. Oh, yes, Linda was a bit of a gambler, and loved to play the slot machines at Mohegan Sun Casino – and she would win!! She’ll miss that, too.
Linda has left us, but she made a difference in other people’s lives every single day. We will miss her and remember…..with LOVE.
