Douglas – Linda Johnson, of Wayland, MA passed away peacefully on February 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. A cherished and loving Mother of Son Todd Eric Douglas and Wife Becky Douglas of Stratham, NH and Daughter Heidi Douglas Thomas and Husband Michael Thomas of Rye Beach, NH Grandmother of Shannon Thomas and Great Grandchildren Grace, Logan and Ethan. Born in Manchester NH, Linda was the devoted daughter of her predeceased parents Margaret Priscilla Johnson and Uno Eric Johnson as well as by her Brother, Marshall Eric Johnson and Husband James Robert Douglas.

Raised in Manchester and Rye Beach, NH she was a forty year Resident of Sudbury, MA. Linda was a 1956 Graduate of Central High School in Manchester, NH and a 1960 Graduate of Wheelock College in Boston, MA where she received her BS in Education. Linda was a former Tenure Elementary School Teacher of Newton, MA and later a Substitute Teacher in Weston and Wayland, MA. Linda maintained a dual career as a Real Estate Broker in MA and NH for fifty three years.

Member of the Sudbury United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active throughout the years in Church activities. She loved the Theatre, especially Musicals, the Symphony, Ballroom Dancing and playing the Piano. Past President of the Rainbow Girls and member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Manchester, NH. A former Member of the League of Women Voters, the Parents League of Concord and Boston, MA, the Boston Ski Club, the Sudbury Skate and Tennis Club in Sudbury, MA, the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord, MA, the Garden Club and Villagers Women’s Club of Sudbury, MA.

Linda’s greatest joy in life was being a Mother, unconditionally devoted to her children. She enjoyed all children’s activities, a Children’s Hospital of Boston Volunteer, Den Mother of the Cub Scouts and was an active leader in the Brownies and Girl Scout Troops in Sudbury, MA. We would be remiss without mentioning that she was a fantastic Event Planner. An integral team member to Church Fundraising Events and to Senior Social and Community Activities and Luncheons. She hosted fantastic Children’s Themed Parties attended by all class members for her children and for large family 40th & 50th Anniversary Events with family, friends and neighbors have remained forever remembered and cherished in our memory. She was kind and generous, known for her strong character and will be missed by family and friends.

There will be a private family Funeral Service. A Memorial Celebration will be scheduled in NH this summer.
