Linda S. (Milia) Hale 68, of Salem, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her family home. She was born in Lawrence, MA and was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Blanche (Foucher) Milia.
Linda was raised in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1968. Linda loved spending her summers with her family and friends on Big Island Pond in Derry, NH, dancing, watching her beloved New England sports team, and was a true animal lover. Linda was known to rescue many stray and abandoned cats and kittens throughout the years, and made them a part of her family.
Linda is survived by her former husband and caregiver John Hale of Salem, MA; her daughters, Susan Petralia and her husband Adam, Sharon Woike and her husband John; her five grandchildren, Alana, Salvatore, Autumn, Avery, and Bella, and her longtime partner Rick Herbert, all of Derry, NH. She also leaves behind her sisters, June Karageanis and her husband William of Salem, NH and Charlene DiMauro of Methuen, MA. Linda also had many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her sister Elaina Nye who passed away in 2017.
A celebration of Linda's life will take place on Sunday, December 2nd from 11am-1pm at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH.
