Linda “Biggie” Maxwell, of Candia, died on June 30, 2022 after a long illness; one day before her 79th birthday. She is survived by her beloved cat Emma, sister Jana Maxwell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Beatrice Young and Thelma Crocker as well as by brothers Reginald and Richard Maxwell.
She was born on July 1, 1943 to Arthur and Elsa (Mortensen) Maxwell in Brentwood, New Hampshire and spent most of her life in Candia. She worked as an Accounting Supervisor at Hesser College and ended her working career as Collection Manager for Bellemore Heating Oil.
Biggie was an expert interior house painter and loved to design and decorate her houses. She assisted in the design and building of three homes; her friends joked that when her house got dirty, she just built another one.
She was known for baking 10 custard pies each year for the Deerfield Community Church booth at the Deerfield Fair. Biggie loved to entertain her family and friends and frequently held gatherings at her home. She was naturally curious about everyone she met and made friends throughout her life; she will be missed.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9th from 10am-11:30am at the Deerfield Community Church, 11 Old Center Rd in Deerfield. A funeral service will follow immediately thereafter in the Church. Family and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Biggie’s memory may be made to the Stratham SPCA @ 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, 03885 or to the Bearpaw Regional Greenways, PO Box 19 Deerfield 03037.
