Linda Sue Watson

Linda S. Watson, 59, of Hollis died peacefully at home on March 14, 2004 after a 19 year battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Watson was born on February 26, 1945 in Waukesha, WI the daughter of the late Kenneth and Dolly (Stengel) Pope. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where she obtained an education degree. In 1980 she received her Masters Degree in Education from Rivier College. Mrs. Watson worked for over 14 years as a reading specialist in the Hollis School District. She was a member and very active parishioner of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Nashua. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, traveling, playing Frisbee and Rally Ball, and splashing in the waves at the ocean with her grandchildren. She was also a member of RIVE in Nashua. Family members include; her husband of 34 years, Richard D. Watson Jr.; two sons, Dr. Nathan Watson of CA and Seth Watson of CO; one daughter, Rachel Scott of NH; three granddaughters; three brothers, Marvin Pope of MA, John Pope of WI, and David Pope of PA; two sisters, Joan Bryant of IN and Gretchen Powell of WI; and 16 nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family, her many generations of students, her co-workers, and her congregation. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 20th at 4:00 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 3 Lutheran Drive in Nashua. Memorial Donations may be made to the Hollis Education Association Scholarship Fund (addressed to HEA HPS c/o Dave Olszewski) or to the Hollis School District (in the memo section please specify HPS Library Fund) both at 36 Silver Lake Rd. Hollis, Christ the King Lutheran Church Memorial Fund 3 Lutheran Dr. Nashua, or the American Cancer Society, (please stipulate breast cancer research) 472-8899 (please press option 3).
