Lisa Gillis

Lisa Jane Gillis, 57, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2022. She was born on March 10, 1965, to the late Edward and Louise (Blanchard) Gillis in Winchester, MA. Lisa, a lifelong Massachusetts resident, spent her youth in Saugus, attended college at Salem State University, and resided in Haverhill for many years and at the time of her passing. Lisa worked as a Postal Clerk for the United States Post Office in Haverhill for many years, which is where she found true love, meeting her postal carrier fiancé, Frank Sapienti.

Lisa had a great love of all animals, owning many cats during her lifetime. If an animal appeared lost, she would always stop and would not leave until she was sure the animal was safe. Lisa enjoyed playing guitar and was a great music fan. She enjoyed attending live concerts, especially those of her favorite group the Allman Brothers Band. She believed in the words of one of their songs “don't be discouraged when the sun don't shine, gotta keep on pulling, you gotta keep on tryin', everybody's got a mountain to climb”.

Anyone who knew Lisa was aware of her wonderful personality and she loved to laugh.  Lisa will be remembered as a kindhearted and religious soul who loved God. Her genuine love and compassion for others made those around her better people.
