Lisa Marie (Denoncourt) Weir, 63, of Barnstead, passed away on January 6, 2026, after a second courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 17, 1962, in Manchester, NH, Lisa lived with energy and joy, bringing both into every part of her life.

Lisa grew up in Concord, NH, and from an early age seemed to be in motion. She was always working on something—often many things at once—and she liked it that way. Whether at work, at home, or with friends, Lisa was engaged, curious, and present. Known by her close circle of lifelong friends as “Gusta,” she paired a practical nature with a quick sense of humor and a sense of adventure that endeared her to many.

In May 2001, Lisa began her career with the NH Department of Transportation as a Land Surveyor Technician. What followed was a 23-year career shaped by steady growth, competence, and trust. She moved into the Engineering Technician series in the Utilities Section of Highway Design in 2003, was promoted to Right of Way Agent III in 2007, and in March 2021 became Chief of Property Management. Lisa knew the work inside and out. Her experience—spanning work in both the public and private sectors, including survey work, management, and entrepreneurial ventures—made her a problem-solver others relied on. She asked thoughtful questions and took real satisfaction in helping newer employees find their footing.

Later in life, Lisa returned to school and earned her associate degree from NHTI, something she was proud of for both the accomplishment and the persistence it represented. She retired in June 2024, after learning her cancer had returned. During her retirement, she stayed in touch with friends and former colleagues and finally made time for the travel she had long talked about, including trips to Nepal and London with family and friends.

Lisa made Barnstead her home for many years, and her homes were always places where family and friends knew they were welcome. Her life there reflected what people valued most about her: warmth, creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to make ordinary time together feel easy. She raised and helped care for many animals over the years—from dogs and cats to pigs and cows—and seemed to have an endless capacity for both responsibility and joy.

At the center of Lisa’s world was her only daughter, Sadie, with whom she shared a close and open relationship. Lisa was deeply proud of Sadie—not only for what she accomplished, but for who she became. She took great joy in watching Sadie grow into a leader—professionally and personally—as a mother, wife, friend, and colleague. Lisa and Sadie had many adventures together, big and small. They were grateful to have been able to achieve their goals of traveling together, both near and far, joined by friends and family who added to the fun and chaos.

Lisa also took enormous joy in her grandchildren, Wyatt and Peyton Irving, who brought laughter and light into her days. Family time—often centered around food—mattered deeply to her. Lisa showed love through action: cooking for people, checking in, lending a hand, or staying close when someone needed company. She noticed when people needed help and didn’t make a show of giving it.

She had a creative, capable streak that touched nearly every part of her life. Lisa could cook, can, garden, sew, craft, create art, and braid hair with impressive skill. She loved learning by doing and trying things simply because they interested her. She had a particular fondness for estate sales, thrift stores, yard sales, and a good bargain—and took just as much pleasure in sharing a find as she did in discovering it.

Lisa is survived by her beloved daughter, Sadie, and her husband, Joseph Irving; her grandchildren, Wyatt and Peyton Irving; her father, James Denoncourt and his wife, Sheila; her siblings, Karl Denoncourt and his wife, Nancy, Renee (Denoncourt) Blodgett, Peter Denoncourt and his wife, Cassandra , and Thomas Denoncourt and his wife, Laura; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene (Groulx) Spoor. She is also lovingly remembered by Lisa Bailey-Audet, a lifelong friend who was family in every way that mattered, and Kelly Godwin, another lifelong friend she talked to at length nearly every day.

Lisa left this world sooner than anyone would have wanted. But while here, she showed many how to live—staying curious, welcoming people in, working hard, and making room for fun along the way.

A celebration of life will be held on May 15th, 2026, from 1-4 pm at Oscar Barn, 191 W River Rd. Hooksett, NH 03106.
