Lloyd Ernest Axelson, age 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 28, 2024, in Lecanto, FL. He was born November 29, 1934, in Powers Lake, ND. He was the son of Ernest H. Axelson and Agnes (Jensen) Axelson.

He attended school in Powers Lake, ND and served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. Lloyd was an accomplished mechanic who could fix anything with a motor. He worked at Abel Ford in Revere, Mass for many years where he was the preferred mechanic for many Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins players. He also worked many years for VECO on the Alaska pipeline in Prudhoe Bay, AK.

He loved tinkering with anything that had a motor, being on his tractors with his beloved dog, Willie, helping his family and neighbors, and traveling throughout the United States.

Lloyd was predeceased by his son, Keith E. Axelson of AK, brothers Kenneth Axelson of ND, Lester Axelson of MT, Clifford Axelson of WA, Donald Axelson of ND, Robert Axelson of ND, and Ronnie Axelson of OK; and his long-time partner Lorraine Smith of NH.

He is survived by his children Alicia Axelson of NH, Melanie Axelson of NH, Valerie Mailhot and husband Andy of NH, and Dwayne Axelson of FL; his grandchildren Michelle Axelson Lacey of AK, Holly Axelson Himler of AK, Kyle Axelson of NH, Andre Mailhot of NH, and Joshua Mailhot of NH; as well as 12 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 5:00pm August 9, 2024, at Contoocook Village Cemetery on Main Street in Contoocook, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
