Lois M. Fusco, 81, of Londonderry NH, passed away January 6, 2019 at the All American Assisted Living of Londonderry surrounded by her family after a period of declining health. She was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on November 28, 1937, one of six children of Alexandar and Amelia (Hawes)Forbes.
She lived and attended school in Nova Scotia, completing her business degree before moving to the United States, residing in Malden, MA for many years then residing in Derry, Hudson then Londonderry, NH for many more. While proud of her Canadian heritage, she was equally proud when she became a U.S. Citizen. She worked for many years at Commercial Union Assurance Company as a Systems Analyst.
In retirement she enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and was an avid animal lover. She had many talents, sewing, knitting, crocheting and could make a mean homemade pasta, meatball and sauce dinner. Family and friends treasure the afghans that she gifted them. In later years, she enjoyed candy bar bingo and rides accompanied by her granddog Blu.
Her greatest joy was visits from family and friends and socializing with the residents and staff where she resided as well as her hospice team.
She leaves behind her brothers Allan Forbes and his wife Carol of Nova Scotia, John Forbes and his wife Jacque and her sister in law, Claire all of Ontario. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Alexander and his wife Wilhelmina of Nova Scotia, David and his wife Gloria and Donald all of Ontario.
She is missed and will lovingly be remembered by her children, Cheryl Joaquim and her husband, Jim of Windham, NH; Edna Grignon and her husband Jim, of Pembroke, MA; Dawn Doucet and her fiancé, Mike Remington of Bedford, NH; Mary Lou Villegas and her husband Carlos of Weymouth, MA; Paul Doucet and his partner Denise Sutton of Hudson, NH; and Frank Fusco, Jr. of Derry, NH; as well as her sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services: A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 19 from 10:00am to 12 noon followed by a memorial service at 12 Noon at Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in their mother's name to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, 545 Route 101 Bedford NH 03110.
