Lorraine (Whitehouse) Holland, 84, passed away peacefully with her eldest son Ernest by her side, on November 1, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born on August 19, 1927 in Hazardville, CT and was the daughter of Ted and Ruth Whitehouse. She married Ernest A. Holland, Jr.in Windham, Ct. on October 22, 1947 . Lorraine retired from the University of Connecticut in 1984 and moved to Titusville, Florida with her husband. After returning from Florida, They resided in Northwood, NH.
Mrs. Holland is survived by 6 children and their spouses, Robin Benoit and her husband Ernest of Plainfield, CT, Darryl Holland and his wife Wanda of Epsom, NH, Linda Johnson of Ocala, FL, Darleen Sokolovsky and her husband Peter of Scotland, CT, Nancy Prescott and her husband Ronald of Epsom, NH, and Ernest Holland and his wife Brenda of Rochester, NH, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by one brother Rodney Whitehouse of Belpre, Ohio.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ernest A. Holland in 2010 after 63 years of marriage, her brothers Frank and Burton Whitehouse, a grandson, Peter Sokolovsky, Jr. of Scotland, CT and a son in law Richard Johnson.
Mrs. Holland is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and sons-in-law, William Fancher of Windham, CT and Donald Messier of Willimantic, CT
Per Mrs. Holland's wishes, There will be no calling hours.
Mrs. Holland will be laid to rest along side her Husband at Evergreen Cemetary in Pembroke NH at a later date.

Mrs. Holland's family would like to thank Ms. Sue Ellen Drake of Northwood Family Practice, her home care angels Gail and Linda from the Rochester District Visiting Nurse Association Hospice and her physicians Dr. Paul R. Clark and Dr. Katherine Brower and her nurses for their gentle care while Lorraine was a patient at Concord Hospital.
