In her Life:
Lorraine was a devoted catholic and served many years as a lector and Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Penacook.
In her retirement years, she and Hector enjoyed traveling both abroad and around the country. They spent many winters in Florida. One of their favorite pastimes was walking and you could often see them together on the streets in Manchester.
From a young age, Lorraine loved to sing and dance. Up until her last days, her love of music still made her smile.
Although Lorraine never had the opportunity, she always talked about her desire to become a nurse and she showed that in her compassion and care for family, friends and even the strangers she would meet.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Lorraine, among them: Don't wear something if it's not your color.
She was always as "neat as a pin" and referred to herself as "sweet Lorraine". She will be remembered for her quick wit, her infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 22nd, at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Bonney St., Penacook. Burial will immediately follow in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
During her last months of her life, she received the exceptional care she would have given as a nurse by the wonderful staff of Havenwood Heritage Heights. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation to benefit students pursuing nursing studies. Checks should made payable to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and mailed to 37 Pleasant St., Concord NH 03301. Please indicate on the check memo or cover note that the gift is in memory of Lorraine Lesmerises.
