Lorraine Pauline Provencher, age 87, of Lowell, MA, passed peacefully on 11/16/2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Lorraine was born in Lowell in 1925, the daughter of Joseph A. and Marie L. (Hebert) Gauthier. In 1943 she married James White (deceased 1971) and in 1973 she married George Provencher (deceased 1988).
Lorraine worked for many years in the Lowell garment and electronic industries, until she retired. After her retirement, Lorraine was a dedicated volunteer at the special care nursery of Lowell General Hospital.
Lorraine is survived by her six children, Pauline White of Manchester, Conn, Kathleen Nobles and her husband Jerry of Lowell, MA, Judith Carr of Concord, NH, Margaret Raymond of South Berwick, ME, Marylou White of Lowell, MA and James White and his wife Stephanie of Port Richey, FL, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved sister in law Annette Provencher.
She was predeceased by her brothers Roger and Andre Gauthier, her sisters Loretta Clark and Jeannette Gagnon, and her granddaughter Jamie Carr.
Lorraine's family would like to thank the Lowell Visiting Nurse Association for the comfort provided to Lorraine in her final days.
Memorial services will be private.
