Louis Eugene DesRoches was born in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada on February 27, 1926. He had two loving sisters - Melita and Josephine, who predeceased him. After the untimely death of his mother when he was only an infant, he was brought up in the loving care of his aunt Isabella - "Bella" and uncle Joseph Abraham Chase. Louis grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He graduated in 1950 from St. Thomas University of Fredericton. He also served in the Canadian Army. Louis later came to the United States with the sponsorship of his cousin Angus and his wife Margaret DesRoches. He eventually became a Naturalized U.S. citizen. He was a school teacher - teaching math in the Levittown school district on Long Island, NY until his retirement. He maintained a house in Hull, MA which he considered his home. Louis' last years were spent at Cheshire Nursing Home in Keene, NH until his death on April 8, 2011. Louis leaves behind his sister Melita's children - Douglas, David - "Corky" (Margaret), Joe (Nan) Thibodeau, and Susan (Jim) Hope. Louis was predeceased by three other children of Melita - Patricia - "Patsy" (Donald) Fillmore, Mary Louise Thibodeau and Eugene - "Buddy" Thibodeau. Also surviving in Canada are numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins. Louis is survived in the United States by his cousins - Louise (DesRoches) Platz, Frederick DesRoches, Robert DesRoches and their families. Final funeral services for Louis with his ashes will be held in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada at a Catholic church there and burial will be in a family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery in New Brunswick.
