Louis E. Krause, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on June 1st. He was born in Granville, NY on April 3rd, 1926 to Louis and Dorothy (Christiansen) Krause. Lou enlisted in the Navy at 17 and served in WWII on Saipan. Post war, Lou graduated from the Missouri State of Mines as a Mechanical Engineer and began his career at RCA before spending 40 years at GE, retiring at 62. Lou was a past Master of the Lynnfield Masonic Lodge. Lou enjoyed his retirement with family at the lake house, which he built in 1969. On any given summer night, you could find Lou putting around Winnipesaukee on the boat with a Hibiscus in hand and his faithful dog Brinkley by his side. Lou loved to travel the world with his wife Joanne, recently traveling through Europe and was known to be at every sporting event and performance for his grandchildren. Lou's family feels blessed to have recently celebrated his 90th birthday with many friends, where they showcased a banner featuring all 38 cars he has owned. Lou is predeceased by his sister Helen and his best friend of 80 years, Hank Vanderminden. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Joanne, niece Barbara, children Chip, Elaine, Gregg and Susan, grandchildren Whitney, Kofi, Taylor, Bill, Jeff, Emily, Joshua, Alison, Jessica and Joe and great-grandchildren Ryan and Charlotte. Lou is also survived by his loving companion, Brinkley, a 75 lb. chocolate lab that Lou adopted at the age of 79.
The family will be holding a graveside service at the Veteran's Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, Monday, June 6th at 1 PM with a celebration immediately following at Lou and Joanne's home in Manchester.
