Louise J. (Mercier) (Tanguay) Guthrie passed away peacefully at age 81, on Friday, June 2nd, 2023, at her home in Nashua NH with her daughters by her side. Louise was born on February 10th, 1942, in Lowell Massachusetts to Maurice & Antoinette (Boulanger) Mercier and was raised in Lowell & Dracut MA. Louise graduated from St Louis Academy in Lowell and worked for Sanders Associates, now BAE for over 20 years until her retirement. 

Louise enjoyed time with the love of her life, and late husband Robert Guthrie, with whom she spent over 30 years with. They spent many years traveling together in their RV, sometimes with family members, enjoyed days at the beach, Sunday drives, being with the grandchildren and just spending time with family. In her later years she enjoyed the other love of her life, her dog Zach, they were meant for each other and spent their days together relaxing and watching TV.

Louise enjoyed her visits with her grandchildren, which she was very proud of and was over the moon when she became a great grandmother. Louise enjoyed people and will be greatly missed. 

Louise is survived by her two children, and six stepchildren Lisa and Joseph Paquette of Pelham, NH, Lori Lockhart of Londonderry, NH, Kathie Bailey of Cantonment, FL, Bobby & Kelly Guthrie of Lowell, MA, Michael & Dana Guthrie of Phoenix, AZ, Linda & Bob Murray of Nashua, NH, Jimmy Guthrie of Pelham, NH, and Elizabeth Guthrie of Hooksett, NH. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole, Devin, Katelyn, Leah, Kacey, Kyle, Lydia & Michael, and great granddaughter Lilliana. She leaves her brothers & sisters Gery & Tina Mercier of Dracut, MA, Marie & Joe Szlosek of Greenville, NH, LeeAnn & Ralph Harper of FLA, Joe & Laurie Mercier of Alton, NH, and Alice Dumont of Hudson, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her cousin Pearl, with whom she enjoyed her daily talks with and a special sister-in-law Joan who was always there to help with her appointments or to just spend time with. 

She was predeceased by her brother Maurice Mercier, and son in law Jay Lockhart. A special thanks to Home Health and Hospice of Merrimack, for the wonderful care of Louise. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Nashua Humane Society. 

SERVICES: A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 4–5 PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 5 PM.
