Louise Miles Pushee
Lyme, NH â Louise M. Pushee, 90, passed away surrounded by family on Thanksgiving Day 2011 at Grafton County Nursing Home after a long illness.
Louise was born October 7, 1921 in Hartford, CT. The only child of Ralph A and Alice (Dexter) Miles, she grew up in East Barnard, VT and moved with her parents to Lyme, NH about 1938. She attended elementary schools in Barnard and Glover, VT and high school at Goddard Seminary in Barre, VT and graduated from Hanover (NH) High School with the class of 1940. She studied at a business school in Brattleboro, VT.
Louise married Harris C Pushee on May 29, 1942. After his return from World War II, they built a home on Route 10 south of Lyme where they raised three sons.
Louise and Harris were members and officers of the Morning Star Grange in Lyme for more than 60 years. They also helped with summer suppers at the Lyme Congregational Church. They enjoyed card parties, pot-luck suppers, and square dancing.
They spent many winters in Frostproof, FL where they were active as officers in the Frostproof Community Club and enjoyed participating in shuffleboard, bingo, and cards.
Surviving family includes three sons and their spouses: Ronald and Linda of Frostproof, FL and Lyme NH; David and Joan of Plymouth, NH; and Wayne and Faith of Lyme NH. Louise is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by Harris in 2002.
A memorial service will be held at the activities room at Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill at 2 PM on Saturday November 26, 2011. Burial will be with her husband at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
