LUCIAN W. GENTES
Lucian W. Gentes, 56, of 135 Beech Street, Newport, NH, died February 2, 2013 of an unexpected illness. He was born March 21, 1956, the oldest son of Lucien and Beverly (Wentzell) Gentes, in Newport, NH. Although small in stature, he had a big personality and made an impact on all who came to know and love him. Despite his disabilities, he was able to enjoy the important things in life: family, friends, nature, music, painting "firecrackers", outings, chocolate and mischief.
He was predeceased by his father, Lucien, in 2010; his mother, Beverly, in 1999; his brother, Todd, in 1997; and sister, Michelle, in 1960. Members of his surviving family include his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Gloria Gentes of Unity; sister RoseAnn Gentes of Newport, sister-in-law Judi Gentes of Alstead; nephews Mathew and Lucien Gentes and Jeremy Soulia and niece Rebecca Soulia; along with a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, and his "adopted" family and friends at Beech Street Group Home in Newport, NH.
He will be interred at the New Hampshire State Veterans' Cemetery in Boscawen. Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 11th, at the Newport Senior Center, 76 South Main Street, Reverend Donna Leslie officiating, followed with a reception and light refreshments.
