Lucien A. "Lou" Jodoin, 79, of Loudon, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Sunday, November 18, 2018.
Lou was born in Goffstown on May 13, 1939, the third of six children born to Sylvio and Alice (Normand) Jodoin. He grew up in East Boston, returning to New Hampshire to attend his senior year at Manchester High School West. Upon graduation he went to work as a machinist, a career which spanned several decades.
Lou was a fine connoisseur of Boston's pizza and pastry offerings. He was well-known for his meticulously kept lawn, his intricately detailed stories, and his seemingly limitless generosity. He was a hard worker all his life and the epitome of the word "commitment." He worked hard to play hard and deeply enjoyed time spent with family, taking vacations as often as possible to go camping or to the beach. The eternal jokester, Lou never passed up an opportunity to make someone laugh.
Lou is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Doris (Martin) Jodoin; his children, Michelle Jodoin of Concord, Linda Lou Jodoin and her husband, Dan Ouimette, of Atlanta, GA, Rick Jodoin and his wife Christine of Lansing, MI, and Jay Jodoin and his wife, Tiffany, of Battle Ground, WA; grandchildren, Jason, Shannon, Sarah, Samantha, Brad, Madeline, Claire, Austin, Mitchell, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Lennon, Jacob, Jonathan, Auddy and Ellie; sisters, Doris Turilli, Lorraine Foote, and Jody Westerman; and other extended family members and cherished friends. In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by his brothers, Sylvio and John Jodoin.
Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, November 23rd, 10:00-11:00am at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street in Boscawen. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org.
