Ludwina Bryant-Fournier

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our mother, Ludwina, on January 16, 2022, just one day following her 92nd birthday surrounded by loved ones at her daughter Monika’s home where she had been cared for 4 years. She had endured years living with Macular Degeneration and then
Dementia.

On her birthday she was thrilled to hear from all her children, and grandchildren as well as old friends and acquaintances. She was overwhelmed by gifts of flowers. cards, chocolates and of course a triple chocolate cake.

She was born in Naunheim, Germany on January l5th, 1930 to Paul and Paula Gutzeit. Ludwina was educated in German school system ending her education at Marburg University.

In l951, she married Frank Bryant, an Army soldier and came to the United States, finally settling in Manchester NH.

She worked at several textile factories before pursuing employment in an electronics firm.
After their children were born and in school, she was employed at Jordan Marsh.

Over the years Mom enjoyed taking her 5 children for Sunday rides and family picnics with other longtime friends, and Saturday night dances and card games.

In 1989 she was married to Real Fournier until he passed away.

In her later years we enjoyed going on cruises to the warmer regions in winter, camping, flower gardening, traveling to visit relatives in Germany. Last but not least we took her to Foxwoods and that became her GO TO favorite. The Slot Machines made her smile with every winning tinkle. We enjoyed spending every minute with her on our adventures. Truly, she was the glue that held the family together. For that we admired her tremendously.

The family includes her daughter Monika Gutzeit Bryant and Glenn, with whom Ludwina resided; Michael F. Bryant, his wife Teresa and their son Ian; her daughter Barbara Stevens-Gagne and husband Glenn. She enjoys her grandchildren Amanda Martel, Collin Stevens, Keaton Gagne, Lauren Gagne and Jamie Miccile that live in the near proximity. Also grandchildren Brittanie Miccile, Shawn Quint and Julian Quint that live out of state; great- grandchild Sharra Martel Susi and finally great-great grandchild Kaden Susi.

The remaining family in Germany are her sister Renate Schweitzer and her family; brother Horst Gutzeit and his family; Ute Wagner and her family. Ludwina was pre-deceased by her parents; a sister Herta Wagner- Henssel; brother Artur Gutzeit;
son Robert and son Michael Larocque; and a daughter Linda.

A memorial gathering will take place at the Cremation Society of NH on Wednesday January 26th from 5 to 6 PM with a memorial service to follow in chapel at 6:00 PM.
