Lula Emma Thoroughgood

Lula Emma Thoroughgood, 65, of Alton died surrounded by her family at her home on January 16, 2003. Lula was born on April 12, 1937 in Wolfeboro, NH the daughter of the late Forest and Hazel (Jones) Varney. In the late 1950's she worked briefly at Clarostat in Dover. She was a proud homemaker and loved raising her family. Lula had a love of music and enjoyed playing the organ. Family members include; her husband of 47 years, George W. Thoroughgood; three sons, Jeffrey Thoroughgood of Sanbornton, George F.Thoroughgood of Alton and Alan Thoroughgood of Wentworth; two daughters, Cindy Headley of Londonderry and Pamela Dame of Tilton; seven grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Varney of Florida; one sister, Stella Dore of Alton; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend an open house at Lula's home on Sunday, January 19th from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the VNA/Hospice of S.
