Lydia Horak LeClair passed peacefully at home the morning of September 18th. She spent her final days with her family and friends, reminiscing with stories of the past and laughing at the small things that had always brought her joy. Lydia was born August 25th in New Brunswick, NJ to Anton and Pauline Horak (both predeceased). She was sister to Michael, Anton, George (predeceased), and James. The family spent Lydia’s adolescent years in Palermo, ME where she attended Erskine High School and is a graduate of UME Orono.

She was a lifelong educator and spent three decades teaching third graders at Northwest Elementary School in Manchester. After retiring, Lydia filled her days with creativity, crafting for friends and family, and taking joy in attending her granddaughters’ events and sport games.

Lydia is lovingly remembered by her daughters Natasha (spouse Matthew) Samantha (partner Peter); her granddaughters Tessa and Cara; her Brother-in-law Tony; her siblings (Horak and LeClair) and many nieces and nephews who will all have fond memories of their “Aunt Lyd.”

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 16th, 4-7 pm at Oscar Barn in Hooksett NH. A donation can be made in her honor to the Elliot Solinsky Center’s Walk for Hope or organization of your choice. A special thank you to the Solinsky Center staff and Elliot VNA where Lydia experienced care and kindness during her toughest days.
