Lydia Borden Walker-Wharton passed from this world at the age of 67 after a long battle with frontotemporal dementia. She was born on March 15, 1959, in Goldsboro, NC, to Ernest and Elizabeth Walker.
Lydia lived for art. She held degrees in both graphic and fine art. Lydia worked as a graphic artist, producing designs still seen on the market today. Lydia also taught art at all levels. She taught in the graphic arts program at Lyndon State College and taught art at Gilman, Guildhall, Luneburg, and Stark schools.
Gardening was another passion that could keep her at work well past dark. Lydia could be a light and whimsical person who loved to have any kind of fun and loved to dance.
Lydia is survived by her husband, Philip; her sister, Kathleen Phillips; her daughter, Ada Johnson; her son, Miles Wharton; her granddaughter, Sutton Johnson; and her son-in-law, Alec Johnson.
Services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster, NH, on Saturday, May 16, at 1:00 PM. The family encourages those in attendance to wear bright colors.
