Lynette H. (Nelson) Croteau, 73 of Winchester, NH passed away in the comfort of her home on May 7, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1952 in Keene, NH, to Linwood H. Nelson and Priscilla A. (Russell) Nelson.

She is the wife of Ronald W. Croteau. They were married on May 12, 1973 at her parent’s home in Winchester. They would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this week. Lynette was a graduate of Thayer High School, class of 1970. She was also a graduate of Houle’s Beauty Academy in Manchester in 1971.

Lynette worked as a hairdresser for 53 years, eventually owning her own business, Lynette’s Country Hair Design in Winchester. She also worked at Plumb Pak Corporation (Keeney) for 15 years before retiring.

Lynette enjoyed watching hummingbirds, which had just arrived and seeing owls. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, going for walks and summer trips to the ocean. She always enjoyed a good scallop diner or a lobster roll anytime. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and decorating for the holidays. She enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with Ron and getting an ice cream in the summer.

Survivors include her husband Ron, son Trevor Croteau and wife Ranee’, grandchildren Kimberly and Jacob. Step-son Craig Croteau and grandchildren Cody, Matt & Zach, Step-son Dana Croteau and granddaughter Ashley. As well as several great grand-children. Her sister in-law Marilyn Croteau and husband Bill Welsh of NC and brother in-law Peter Croteau of Maine. Nephews Andy Nelson, wife Haili and family of Hawaii, Jeffrey Croteau of Portugal, Mark Welsh of NC, nieces Chloe’ Croteau-Hanson and Crystal Everakes of NC as well as several great grand nieces and nephews, and her special friend Rozzy Ryll. She also leaves behind many cousins and wonderful friends.

She was predeceased by her parent’s Linwood and Priscilla and brother Paul Nelson.

Donations may be made to Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services – 312 Marlboro St., Keene, NH.

There will be no graveside services at this time. A time to gather will be held on Sunday May 31, 2026 from 1-4 PM at the United Church of Winchester, 99 Main Street, Winchester, NH.
