The family of Lynn Crawford Badger is deeply saddened to announce her passing on June 29, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on April 30, 1945, in Portland, Oregon, Lynn was the daughter of Eugene and Susan Crawford and spent a happy childhood in Mill Valley, California, where she developed the warmth, curiosity, and spirit that would define her throughout her life.

After graduating from Tamalpais High School in 1963, Lynn earned her bachelor's degree from the University of the Pacific in 1967, followed by her teaching credential from Dominican College in 1969. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, teaching in Texas and Ohio.

In 1967, Lynn met John Badger at a party in San Francisco, and they married the following year during the "Summer of Love." Together they built a life filled with adventure, moving to communities across the United States as John's corporate career took them from place to place, including four memorable years in the Netherlands. They settled in Ridgefield, Connecticut, in 1986, where they lived for many years before retiring to Durham, New Hampshire, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Lynn believed deeply in giving back to her community. Over the years she volunteered with numerous organizations, including the American School of The Hague, the Ridgefield Community Center, the Keeler Tavern Museum, the Great Bay Discovery Center, the Seacoast Science Center, and the University of New Hampshire Marine Docents.

Travel and the exploration of other cultures were among Lynn's greatest passions. Her adventures began with a Semester at Sea in 1966 and continued into the 1970s with family camping trips through Europe in a Volkswagen camper van affectionately named Buster. In retirement, she and John traveled extensively, visiting destinations including China, the Galápagos Islands, Peru, New Zealand, Turkey, and her favorite destination, the Amalfi Coast of Italy.

Lynn made friends wherever she went. Her kindness, curiosity, and enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her, and her strong opinions were always delivered with a smile.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, John Badger; her children, Sara (Chris) Wilson and Jeff (Lydia) Badger; and her grandchildren, Caroline, Hannah Jane, Maya, Ernest, and Roy. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Susan Crawford, and by her brother, Bruce Crawford.
