M. Philip Guertin

M. Philip Guertin, 71, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. He was born on May 28, 1945 in Manchester, NH the son of the late Maurice Sr. and Margaret (Kelley) Guertin.

Phil graduated from Nashua High School in 1964. He received a B.A. in Philosophy from Niagara University, and a Master's Degree in Religious Education from Emmanuel College. He then served in the Air National Guard as a Chaplain's assistant.

He taught Religion at St. Anthony and then Trinity High School in Manchester, NH from 1969-1973. From there, Phil had a varied career that included working as a department manager at W.T. Grant Company and later Kmart. He most recently worked as a bread distributor until he fell ill several years ago.

Phil is survived by his son Phil Guertin of Manchester; a daughter Moira (Guertin) Valenti and her husband Kevin Valenti of Hillsborough, NH; grandchildren Caitlin Merrill and Ryan Merrill of Derry, NH; his sister Michele (Shelly) Andruskevich and her husband Thomas Andruskevich of Milford, Ma; and a niece and
two nephews.

A gathering will be held at 1 PM Sunday, March 12, 2017 at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, at 243 Hanover St. Manchester NH, with the Memorial Service immediately following at 2 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend.
