Madeline E. "Lyn" Fischer
Nashua--Madeline Esther (Senn) Fischer passed away in Kent Village at The Huntington at Nashua, surrounded by her loving family, after a short illness on July 28 at the age of 82. Madeline was born on August 10, 1931 in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of the late Herbert and Esther (Moeckel) Senn. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1949 and Chandler School, Boston in 1951. She worked at the Crocker Burbank Paper Company until her marriage to Henry Lawrence Fischer in 1955 and moved into their first home in Bedford MA. She worked at the Raytheon Company in Bedford until the first of their four sons was born. She lived in Bedford for nine years and Acton for 45 years where she raised her four sons.
Madeline had a life full of friends, travel and family activities. She loved her homes, decorating, gardens, landscaping and her beagles. She was active in the Acton Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school, the Acton Garden Club and for many years a volunteer at Emerson Hospital in Concord MA. She was also an Office Specialist for many technology companies in the area.
Madeline leaves her husband Henry after 59 years of marriage and 60 years as best friends. She also leaves her sons Jeffrey and wife Margo McGowan of Waltham; Gary, wife Linda Gray and grandson Benjamin of Andover; Douglas of Boston; Karl, wife Denise Simko and granddaughters Laura and Sarah of Everett, and many good friends and family members.
In addition to her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her brother Herbert "Jack" Senn and her niece Marsha Bassi.
On Thursday, August 14th there will be a gathering to celebrate her life from 10am to 12am at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester. Refreshments will be available. A memorial service will be held in the Cremation Society chapel at 11am
