Mae Rita (Gilman) Haskins, 86 of Bedford, NH died on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Bowman Place of Bedford, in Bedford, NH.
Mrs. Haskins was born on November 5, 1937, in Boscawen, NH, the daughter of the late John H. and Yvonne (Doucette) Gilman. She was the youngest of nine children.
She graduated from Amoskeag School, went to West High School for two years then went to work. While raising her family, she worked at several local electronic plants. She worked at Tel-labs Electronics and Armtec, Inc. In 1986, she went back to school and earned her GED, then went to secretarial school. After earning her degree, she worked at various offices. She later retired from office work.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Litchfield, NH.
She enjoyed making various crafts, sewing, crocheting, making dolls, making clothes for her great granddaughter. She also loved to paint and play the piano.
Mrs. Haskins was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Haskins, three sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Rheaume) Clancy, of Dunbarton, NH; two sons, Robert Rheaume, Jr., of Raymond, NH; Daniel Rheaume of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a brother, William Gilman, of Manchester, NH; four grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandsons, two of which are twins. Two great granddaughters, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, 1 p.m. at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, in Boscawen, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Mrs. Haskins.
