Marc A. Normand, 67, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2017 at his home in Manchester. He is remembered as a gentle, kind, and soft-spoken man.
Marc was the only child of Cecile Y. Normand (Houle) and Arthur Normand, Jr. Cecile ran Normand Real Estate for many years, and Arthur was a well-known Sweepstakes Commission agent for the Manchester area. Marc attended St. George Elementary School, Bishop Bradley High School, and then Hawthorne College. For most of his career he worked for the NH Community College System in both Manchester and Nashua as well as the Marriott Hotel chain.
Marc did not let his MS diagnosis hold him back. He was an avid outdoorsman active in skiing, hiking, walking, even winter camping. Marc had intended to get back to team ski racing this season.
Marc is survived by numerous close relatives and friends and cousins. Of particular note are his cousins Lorraine Forest and her husband Richard (whom he considered his siblings), as well as Sylvia Carrier and Norman Lesmerises.
A celebration of Marc's life will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester on Saturday, September 2, 2017 with a gathering beginning at 10 a.m. and memorial service at 11 a.m. Family and friends are encouraged to bring reminders of happy memories with Marc, including stories that others would enjoy hearing. A reception will follow.
