Marcia Lalonde

Marcia Lalonde, 86, died May 10, 2024 in her home in Lyndonville. She was born September 17, 1937.   Normally quiet, private, and shy, Marcia became lively and proud when she was serving her guests at the many restaurants she worked.  Many of her guests became her friend and came back to visit her year after year.  They would send her holiday and birthday cards and gifts.  She loved to brag that she worked until she was 83!

Arizona was her home for 37 years.  She and her husband ‘Fern’ moved there together, and she stayed 17 years after Fern died.  She looked forward to family visits and spontaneous road trips.  She took such pride in her home and her career.  At 83, she decided for health reasons to come back to VT near her daughter and to leave her beloved Arizona.  

When she let herself relax, she loved putting puzzles together, reading, and playing scrabble.  She crocheted blankets for all of her grandchildren.  

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Goss, of West Burke, four step-children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several sisters and brothers.

Marcia was predeceased by her husband Fernand Lalonde, her two sons Charles Goss and Michael Goss, and a great grandson Jason Webber, Jr.

A grave site service will be held at the Howland Cemetery on Burke Hollow Rd, West Burke, June 10 at 1:00 pm.
