Margaret A. Gordon

Margaret (Kelly) Gordon passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on February 9, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Quinn) Kelly, the second of four children.

Known to her friends as Peg or Peggy, she graduated from High School, in Brighton Massachusetts, where, according to her yearbook, she was known to have a sweet personality and a wonderful sense of humor.  Her personality never changed.  She was loved by everyone.  Her sense of humor continued throughout her life. Along with her sisters, she loved to play practical jokes on all the kids and their families as they were growing up.

Margaret was the devoted wife of George Gordon, and a wonderful mother who was always there when her family needed her.  She loved the traditional family gatherings during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, where over the many years she was able to spend time with her children, grand-children, and great grand-children.

Margaret enjoyed going on casino trips with her daughters, other family members and friends.  She had the “Luck of the Irish” and always shared her winnings with everyone, making the trips memorable and fun for everyone.

She also enjoyed her yearly “Girls Only Weekends”, at her sister Maureen’s Lake House in Hillsboro, New Hampshire, where her sisters and sister friends gathered every year to spend some alone time together away from their spouses and significant others.  She said it was their time to relax and enjoy life.

She loved her “soap operas” on TV, watching the same ones for many, many years.  And, please don’t disturb her when they are on.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children, Albert Kane and his wife Denise, Kelly Patnaude and her husband Jeff, Maureen Moulton and her husband Jim, and George Gordon Jr.  She is also survived by her brother, Edward Kelly.  She had eight grand-children and seven great-grand-children.   She was predeceased by her loving husband George Gordon, her daughter Debbie Kane, her sisters Patricia Kirby and Maureen Leary, and her grand-children Lisa Thompson and Victoria Zabierek.

In keeping with the wishes of Margaret, there will be a private service for her immediate family, at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery, in Boscawen, New Hampshire, where she will laid to rest with her husband, George Gordon.
