Margaret (Griel) Beard

Margaret Lynn Beard, 84, of Candia NH died on April 6th, 2019. She is preceded in death by her

parents Frank C. and Sarah B. Griel and six siblings. She is survived by five daughters; Martha

Swift of Strongsville, OH, Susan Umbaugh of Candia, NH, Elizabeth Steinberg of Venice, FL,

Anne Zyck of Fairview Park, OH, and Sally Knopp of Woodland Park, CO, nine beloved

grandchildren as well as nineteen great grandchildren. A native of Clearfield, PA, she moved to

Cleveland in 1970, where she led a devoted career as a high school English teacher and librarian.

She received her bachelor's degree in English from Penn State and went on to get her master's

degree in Library Science from Kent State University. She has been recognized by her students

as a teacher who took pleasure in helping them find their path in life. She will be particularly

remembered for her love and devotion to God and her family. Private services will be held in

Clearfield where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Robert B. Beard. If desired,

memorials may be sent in her name to the Church of the Redeemer, 99 S. Mammoth Rd,

Manchester, NH 03109.
