Margaret Elaine Breton, known as Peg to her family and friends, of Freedom, New Hampshire, passed away on October 11, 2026.

Born August 31, 1952, Peg was originally from Lynn, Massachusetts. She moved to New Hampshire in her thirties, where she later met and married John Breton. For the past twelve years, they made their home in a beautiful white farmhouse in Freedom overlooking the Ossipee Mountains. She absolutely loved the house and its incredible view and felt blessed to live there.

Peg loved playing cribbage with John and visiting the ocean, especially Boothbay Harbor, Maine, with John, her sister-in-law Laurie Vigue, and Laurie’s husband, Rick Vigue. In her younger years, she enjoyed raking leaves and planting gardens. She loved dragonflies and had a dragonfly tattoo.

A loving soul, Peg cherished every chance to spend time with family and friends, especially hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas and decorating the house for both. She adored children and had worked at a childcare center in Center Ossipee. She also loved the family’s animals: Luke, and her daughter Samantha’s dog Sully, cat Fluff, and horses Jakai and Angel.

Peg is survived by her beloved husband, John Breton; daughters, Melissa and Samantha Breton; grandchildren, Benjamin and Shawn Coates; siblings, Thom and Jackie; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Barbara Freeman and Robert Malcom deLara; her brother, Robert Malcom deLara Jr., known as Bobby; and her sister, Janice.

Peg’s warmth and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of her Life will be held October 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of Ossipee, 50 NH-16B, Center Ossipee, NH 03814.
