Margaret Dow Mudge, 93, of Hanover died on March 18 at the Clough Center of New London Hospital. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on January 25, 1908, the daughter of Dr. David C. Dow, Sr. and Edith Atwood Dow. She was educated in the Cambridge schools and graduated from Wheaton College in 1930. She worked as secretary to the Vice President of Raytheon Corporation and was for many years the Secretary of the First Congregational Church of Concord, New Hampshire. For much of her life she lived with her mother in Warner; then, following her marriage to William Forbes Mudge in 1969, she divided her time between Hebron and Concord until 1986 when she moved to The Greens in Hanover, where she was an active member of the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College. The past few years she has been residing at the Woodcrest assisted living facility in New London. She enjoyed travel, her family and volunteer work with her church, and gave generously to many charities. She is survived by her stepchildren, Nancy Mudge Sycamore of Hebron and Arthur Mudge of Haverhill and Hanover, and many step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and by her brother Dr. David C. Dow, Jr. late of Cambridge Massachusetts. There will be a memorial service at the Union Congregational Church in Hebron at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 4.
