Margaret Elizabeth (Marshall) Wier was born April 29, 1939 in Exeter, NH. She was the daughter of William Hugh Marshall and Mary Frances Connor. She died January 26, 2021 at her home in Stratham, NH.
She attended Robinson Female Seminary and graduated from Exeter High School. She received a B.A. from Connecticut College for Women and an M.A. from Ball State University. She taught in Sacramento, California and Groton, Connecticut before joining the U.S. Department of Defense Overseas Schools. She taught in Tripoli, Libya; West Berlin, West Germany; Zaragoza, Spain and Rota, Spain over a period of thirty years.
After her retirement, she and her husband, Wallace, lived part of each year in El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain. They continued this pattern until July of 2020, when they returned to their home in Stratham, NH.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Wallace; daughter, Catherine Dufresne; and son, Andrew Wier and wife Bernadette; grandchildren, Joshua Dufresne, Samantha Dufresne, and Rosalynn Wier; brother, Hugh Marshall and wife Esther; and three nephews, David Marshall, John Marshall, and Stephen Marshall.
