Margit Derek

Margit Hegedus Derek - Born November 6, 1937 in Tompa, HUNGARY passed into her Heavenly Home in the wee hours of June 5, 2022.  

Wife of the late Josef Sandor Derek with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.  They left HUNGARY in 1957 and were sponsored to come to the United States of America where they became American citizens and lived the American dream.  Margit was an exceptional seamstress and over the years worked at Malden Mills in Lawrence,  MA, Lowell Lingerie in Lowell, MA and Marry & Tux in Nashua, NH.

She loved her friends of whom there were many, sewing, animals, flowers,  dancing the Polka with her husband Joe, playing card games and board games, but most especially, she loved her family.  They were her whole life. 

She is survived by her two sons and their families - Joseph and Bonnie Derek of Hudson, NH and John and Holly Derek of Kingston, NH.  She had five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren:  Jeremiah & Laura (Johnathan, Jeremiah & Lillian), Sarah  & John (Julianne, Luke & Annaliese), Benjamin & Tina (Joseph,  Charlie,  James, Lila & Benjamin), Mathilda and her boyfriend Jake , and Hannah.

A Memorial Service for Margit will be held on Saturday,  June 25, 2022 at New Life Christian Church - 272 Lowell Road, Hudson NH at 3:00 in the afternoon.  

The service will be followed by light refreshments.
