In Loving Memory of Maria Vanegas

December 24, 1932 – July 29, 2026

Maria Vanegas, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and cherished family matriarch, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2026, at the age of 93.

Maria was born in El Salvador on December 24, 1932. She was a woman of remarkable faith, strength, perseverance, generosity, and love. As a young widow, she worked tirelessly to provide for her family and carry them through difficult times. She knew what it meant to sacrifice, work hard, and trust God through every circumstance.

Maria was blessed with eight children, including her beloved son, Jose Vanegas, who preceded her in death. Her surviving children are Ena Saavedra; Herbert Vanegas, Lillian Vanegas; Enrique Vanegas and his wife Miriam; Noemy Toledo; Romeo Vanegas and his wife Joanne; Wendy Teague.

She was also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply and faithfully carried in her prayers.

Although her family mourns the tremendous loss of the woman who was the heart and matriarch of their family, they rejoice knowing that Maria is now in the presence of the Lord that she so loved and faithfully served. Her work here is finished, her prayers have been prayed, and her faith has left a legacy that will continue through generations.
