Marie C. Crabtree (96) of Concord, N.H. died on August 14, 2016 at the Havenwood, Heritage Heights Retirement Community after a brief illness. She was married for over 60 years to Edward M. Crabtree of Brookline, MA and later in life, married Calvin M. Davis of Concord, NH.
Betty was born in Worcester, MA, the daughter of Anna Linster and Leonard Castelli, was educated in Brookline, MA schools and a graduate of Simmons College, majoring in Business and Secretarial Studies.
During World War II, she worked as a Civil Service secretary at the Boston Ordnance District, the First Service Command and became secretary to the Collector for Customs for the Port of Boston. Later she was employed as a legal secretary.
Betty was a past President of the Greenfield's Women's Club, a member of the Peterborough Women's Club, the NH Federation of Women's Clubs and the Peterborough Garden Club. For many years she was a volunteer assisting elderly and handicapped persons in various capacities. She was a member of the Havenwood Heritage Heights Auxiliary, served on various committees and was an avid Billiard enthusiast - winning many trophies.
Survivors include her daughter and husband, Edith and James Limbright of Cape Coral, FL, her son and wife, Ernest and Linda Crabtree of Harwich, MA, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
